Senior Specialist, FI Central Accounting & Reporting

About the role

This role sits with OSRAM, a.s., Slovakia, part of the ams OSRAM group, within the Corporate Function. As a Senior Specialist in FI Central Accounting & Reporting, you will manage General Ledger activities for assigned entities and countries, own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes under IFRS, and work with stakeholders across multiple countries, functions, and business units.

What you’ll do

• Manage General Ledger activities for assigned entities and countries, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal policies
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, resolve outstanding items, and support accurate financial reporting
• Handle complex accounting matters, analyze financial results, and review balance sheet and profit & loss accounts to identify and resolve accounting issues and unusual variances
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, analyses, and responses to audit inquiries
• Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple countries, functions, and business units to resolve accounting, reporting, and process-related topics
• Contribute to the global internal controls framework through documentation, testing, standardization, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive projects focused on process optimization, automation, standardization, and operational excellence
• Prepare and maintain accounting guidelines, process documentation, and work instructions while fostering knowledge sharing and a collaborative team environment

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Several years of professional experience in accounting, including General Ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and the ability to apply accounting standards in complex business scenarios
• Solid understanding of key accounting processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Accruals, and Provisions
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and financial data analysis
• Fluent German and conversational English skills, both written and spoken
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across international and cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities combined with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and professional judgment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
• Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for optimizing processes and enhancing efficiency

An advantage: experience with SAP, knowledge of Austrian and/or German GAAP, exposure to internal controls, audit or compliance activities, and previous involvement in process improvement, automation, finance transformation, or multinational shared services environments.
